Science HLTA – PRU Setting UES1

We are seeking a confident and resilient Science HLTA to join a specialist PRU setting. This is a varied and rewarding role, ideal for someone who can engage and motivate students who may have struggled in mainstream education.

You will support the delivery of Science at Key Stage 3, with a small teaching commitment. All lesson content will be provided by the Science Lead. In addition, you will provide general cover across the school, requiring flexibility and strong classroom presence.

Key Responsibilities:

* Deliver pre-planned Science lessons to KS3 pupils

* Provide general classroom cover across a range of subjects

* Manage behaviour effectively in a PRU environment

* Support students with social, emotional, and behavioural needs

* Help re-engage learners and promote positive attitudes to education

* Work collaboratively with teaching and pastoral staff

Requirements:

* HLTA status or equivalent experience

* Experience working in a PRU, SEN, or secondary school setting

* Strong behaviour management and the ability to remain calm under pressure

* Confidence leading a classroom independently

* Flexible, proactive, and committed approach
