At Babcock, we’re working to create a safe and secure world, together. If you join us, you can play your part as an Integrated Business Planning Lead at Rosyth, near Dunfermline, Fife.

This is a unique opportunity to help establish and embed a new, sector-wide Integrated Business Planning capability across Babcock Marine. Working at the heart of a complex and dynamic business, you'll influence how strategic priorities, operational delivery, workforce capability, financial performance and growth opportunities come together to support critical defence and engineering programmes. This is a highly visible role where your work will directly support better decision-making, improve business performance and help shape the future of one of the UK's leading defence organisations.

The role

As an Integrated Business Planning Lead, you'll lead the development and implementation of a modern, digitally enabled planning framework across Babcock Marine. Joining the newly established Planning Governance Team, you'll play a key role in bringing together strategic planning, workforce planning, capacity planning and operational delivery into a single integrated approach.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing function at a formative stage, giving you the chance to influence processes, shape new digital planning tools and drive meaningful change across a diverse portfolio that includes shipbuilding, engineering, maintenance, in-service support and international growth programmes.

Day-to-day, you’ll be required to:

  • Developing and embedding integrated business planning processes, governance frameworks and reporting cycles.

  • Leading cross-functional planning forums that align business demand, workforce, capacity and operational requirements.

  • Analysing planning data and producing reports, forecasts, scenarios and recommendations for senior stakeholders.

  • Collaborating with Data & Analytics teams to shape and improve digital planning tools and solutions.

  • Supporting leaders across Operations, Finance, Commercial and Business Growth functions to drive planning excellence and continuous improvement.

This role is full time, 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday, based at Rosyth. Hybrid working patterns are available. Travel to other Babcock sites, including Bristol and Devonport, will be expected.

Essential experience of the Integrated Business Planning Lead:

  • Proven experience in integrated business planning, strategic planning, operational planning, workforce planning, capacity planning or portfolio planning.

  • Experience developing or implementing planning frameworks, governance processes and reporting cycles.

  • Strong knowledge of demand, capacity, workforce, financial or scenario-planning methodologies.

  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with experience influencing senior leaders across multiple functions.

  • Experience using planning, reporting, performance management or data tools within a complex organisation.

Qualifications for the Integrated Business Planning Lead:

We value difference and don't have a fixed idea when it comes to background or education. If you can demonstrate the required experience and a willingness to learn, we'd love to hear from you. Relevant qualifications or certifications in Lean, Continuous Improvement, Operational Excellence or Business Improvement would be advantageous.
