IT Business Manager

Job Purpose: 
The IT Business Manager collaborates with key stakeholders to understand our partner’s business priorities and how they relate to their overall strategic direction; before communicating them into the relevant teams within the business to ensure we deliver fit-for-purpose solutions. As a trusted advisor, the IT Business Manager informs our partners on how to leverage IT to support their strategy. To achieve this, they consider and work across all areas of the business to identify common goals, articulate and define business needs, and facilitate the mobilisation of technology resources to design and develop relevant solutions.
Key Duties and Responsibilities

• The primary point of technology contact for partner strategic and tactical priorities.


• Maintaining an organisation’s effectiveness by defining and delivering strategic plans for implementing IT.


• Directing research by understanding partner goals, strategies, practices, and user projects.


• Coordinating resources and timetables with user departments and internal tech teams.


• Recommending IT strategies, policies, and procedures by evaluating organisational outcomes.


• Establishing and enforcing business standards.


• Initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.


• Researching and implementing strategic tech solutions.


• Assessing and/or developing business cases to support ICT investment decisions.


• Preserve assets by implementing/verifying information security and control structures.


• Analysing technical issues and making business decisions.
  

Skills

• Ability to communicate effectively: verbal, face-to-face, visual, written and workshops/presentations.


• Exceptional track record of managing strategic relationships with business stakeholders.


• Customer service orientation and experience
  


• Natural problem solver, with an understanding of the strategic and tactical implications.


• Proven prioritisation, budget setting and negotiation skills


• Creative thinking skills to ensure the organisation is providing an innovative client experience


• Strong analytical skills, converting business insights to actionable recommendations

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, business management, marketing, an MBA degree is preferred.


• 5+ years of experience in IT management or similar technical role


•  2+ years prior experience in customer-facing roles
