JOB SUMMARY
The Loss Prevention Officer is responsible for providing appropriate protection for guests, associates, visitors, hotel property, company assets and the hotel’s brand reputation, while maintaining the discreet and attentive service expected within a luxury hotel environment.
A key responsibility of the position is supporting lobby operations by maintaining a visible and professional presence, meeting and greeting guests in accordance with brand standards, assisting with enquiries where appropriate, and monitoring the lobby for suspicious behaviour, unauthorised persons or other potential security concerns.
The role involves conducting property patrols, monitoring CCTV and life-safety systems, identifying potential hazards and responding professionally to accidents, emergencies, disturbances and security incidents.
When required, the Loss Prevention Officer prepares accurate incident and daily activity reports, conducts investigations, and gathers evidence maintaining strict confidentiality. The position requires strong situational awareness, clear communication, excellent guest-service skills and the ability to work collaboratively while consistently following company policies, safety procedures and quality standards.
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Previous experience working within Loss Prevention in 5-star environments
Skills and Knowledge
Clear, confident and professional verbal and written communication skills.
Strong guest service and associate relations skills, with the ability to remain calm, tactful and discreet.
Sound judgement, situational awareness and the ability to respond effectively under pressure.
A proactive, reliable and team-oriented approach.
Ability to prepare accurate incident reports, daily logs and investigation records.
Working knowledge of CCTV, alarm monitoring, access control and fire life safety systems is preferable.
Education or Certification
A good standard of written and spoken English is required.
Up to date First Aid certificate
Up to date SIA Door Supervisor / Close Protection Licence
