The Role & Shift Pattern
This role offers a brilliant balance of technical variety and genuine time away from work. You will operate on a structured four-week rotating shift pattern across a team of four engineers, providing 24/7 site coverage. The schedule gives you an excellent mix of day shifts, night shifts, and weekday working, naturally built alongside regular long weekends and extended rest periods. You will also participate in a shared on-call rota (typically just one weekend in four).
What You’ll Be Doing
* Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and rapid reactive breakdown repairs across the site.
* Electrical and mechanical fault-finding on complex manufacturing process plants, pumps, and electric motors.
* Maintaining and improving steam/boiler systems, chilled water systems, and pneumatics.
* Working with cutting-edge instrumentation, controls, PLC-controlled equipment, and variable speed drives.
* Leading equipment reliability initiatives, engineering projects, upgrades, and new installations.
* Keeping production downtime to an absolute minimum while ensuring strict safety, food safety, and compliance standards.
What We’re Looking For
* Multi-Skilled Engineering Background: Strong, practical hands-on experience in both mechanical and electrical engineering.
* Industry Experience: A background within manufacturing, food production, FMCG, or the process industry is highly desirable.
* Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent fault-finding capabilities with a proactive, practical mindset.
* Team Player: The ability to work completely autonomously when required, but also pull together with a close team.
* Qualifications: Relevant engineering qualifications are a distinct advantage, though proven technical experience is highly valued.
