I am currently working with a well-established engineering business in Sheffield; they are looking to add a Mechanical Design Engineer to their growing team.

This is a great opportunity for someone with at least 2 years’ experience who is looking to develop their career within a supportive and forward-thinking environment.

Responsibilities of the Mechanical Design Engineer:

Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies
Produce accurate 2D and 3D drawings for manufacture
Work closely with production and fabrication teams to ensure designs are practical
Liaise with customers and internal teams on design specifications
Support projects from concept through to completion
Ensure all designs meet industry standards and regulations

Requirements of the Mechanical Design Engineer:

Minimum 2 years’ experience in a Mechanical Design Engineer role
Experience using 2D and 3D AutoCAD
Experience producing engineering drawings for manufacture
Sheet metal design experience
Automotive industry experience is (desired)
Experience designing commercial vehicles, pressure vessels or tanks (desired)
