Summary
Camden Facilities Management is on the lookout for a seasoned Multi-Skilled Building Services Engineer with expertise in commercial plumbing and mechanical building services maintenance. This role involves executing planned preventative maintenance (PPM), addressing reactive repairs, diagnosing faults, and performing minor installations across a diverse range of properties, including schools, children's centers, community buildings, and corporate facilities in Camden. A significant aspect of this position is to mentor a plumbing apprentice for about three days a week, fostering their technical growth and ensuring adherence to safe working practices.
Responsibilities
Conduct planned preventative maintenance on plumbing and mechanical systems.
Diagnose and repair issues in commercial plumbing, heating, and mechanical installations.
Maintain equipment such as pumps, pressurisation units, expansion vessels, calorifiers, booster sets, valves, and related plant.
Repair domestic hot and cold-water systems.
Service TMVs and assist with water hygiene and Legionella control measures.
Perform minor installation and remedial tasks.
Identify root causes of faults and propose long-term solutions.
Update job statuses, materials used, findings, and completion details in Camden's CAFM system.
Conduct dynamic risk assessments and adhere to site safety protocols.
Maintain work vehicles, tools, and equipment.
Provide support to the broader M&E team as needed.
Mentor and oversee the assigned plumbing apprentice.

NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent qualification in:
Plumbing
Mechanical Engineering
Building Services Engineering
Extensive experience in commercial plumbing and mechanical maintenance.
Experience with maintaining:
Heating systems
Pumps
Pressurisation units
Expansion vessels
Calorifiers
Booster sets
Mechanical plant equipment
Proficiency in both planned and reactive maintenance.
Strong diagnostic and fault-finding abilities.
Experience working independently in occupied buildings.
Full Clean UK Driving Licence.
Familiarity with CAFM systems or mobile maintenance technology.
Capability and enthusiasm for mentoring apprentices.
Desirable
Unvented Hot Water Qualification.
Water Hygiene or Legionella Awareness.
Basic Electrical Fault-Finding Skills.
BMS Awareness.
Experience with HVAC and AHU maintenance.
Knowledge of booster pump maintenance.
Understanding of water treatment processes.
Asbestos Awareness.
IPAF or PASMA Certification.
First Aid Qualification.
Experience in Local Authority, Education, NHS, or Public Sector Estates.
