Are you a hands-on engineer who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment? We are looking for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our clients FMCG engineering team and play a key role in keeping our production facility running efficiently, safely, and reliably. This is an exciting opportunity to work with modern automated equipment within a continuous manufacturing environment, where your technical expertise, problem-solving ability, and proactive mindset will directly contribute to operational performance. As a Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining and improving a wide range of process, packaging, and site equipment. Working both independently and as part of a skilled engineering team, you will help ensure minimal downtime and maximum production efficiency. Key Responsibilities • Carry out planned, predictive, and reactive maintenance across production and site equipment • Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical faults on processing machinery, packaging equipment, and utilities • Respond quickly to breakdowns and equipment failures to minimise disruption to production • Support the installation, commissioning, and repair of plant machinery and facilities • Perform workshop duties, including machine repairs and component fabrication • Assist manufacturing teams with line adjustments, changeovers, and technical support • Identify and implement engineering improvements to increase efficiency and reduce downtime • Maintain accurate engineering documentation and maintenance records • Work collaboratively with external contractors and engineering partners on site projects • Train and support colleagues on the safe use and maintenance of equipment The Person • Engineering qualification such as HNC or NVQ Level 3 in Electrical, Mechanical, or Multi-Skilled Engineering • Experience working in a high-speed automated manufacturing environment (ideally FMCG or food production) • Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills across electrical and mechanical systems • Experience with automated machinery, packaging equipment, and site services • Ability to work independently and prioritise workload effectively • Strong commitment to health and safety Desirable: • Experience with integrated control systems • Knowledge of automatic packaging and palletising systems • Familiarity with AC drives and/or servo drive systems Important Information: We endeavour to process your personal data in a fair and transparent manner.
