Geography Academic Mentor - What the Role Involves

• Delivering targeted one-to-one and small-group Geography intervention sessions across KS3 and KS4

• Helping pupils develop their extended writing, map work, data interpretation, and geographical analytical skills


• Tracking individual pupil progress and feeding back regularly to the class teacher and Head of Geography


• Building motivating, trusted relationships with pupils to develop their confidence and curiosity in Geography

Geography Academic Mentor - What the School is Looking For

The ideal Geography Academic Mentor will hold a 2:1 or 1st Class degree from a top 30 UK university, ideally in Geography or a closely related Humanities or Social Sciences discipline. Previous child-centred experience in a UK educational setting is highly valued. The school is seeking a proactive, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic Geography Academic Mentor with strong communication skills and a genuine passion for the subject.

Geography Academic Mentor - Salary and Contract Info

• £450 to £530 per week, pro rata to term time only


• Full-time, long-term contract from September 2026 to July 2027


• Term-time only


• Potential for future teacher training or extended contracts following a successful placement
