Deputy Nurse Manager – Supernumerary

£50,000 per year | Nursing & Dementia Care

This nursing home provides specialist nursing and dementia care within a warm and welcoming environment, with a strong emphasis on individualised support, dignity and meaningful relationships with residents and their families.

As Deputy Nurse Manager, you’ll work in a supernumerary capacity, giving you dedicated time to focus on clinical leadership, quality and team development. You’ll work closely with the Home Manager to support the overall running of the service while remaining a visible and approachable presence for residents, relatives and colleagues.

The Clinical Leadership We’re Looking For

• Registered RGN or RMN with an active NMC registration.


• Proven experience as a Deputy Nurse Manager or in a similar senior nursing position within a nursing home or comparable care environment.


• Strong clinical knowledge and confidence supporting residents with nursing and dementia care needs.


• Good understanding of CQC requirements and regulatory standards within nursing homes.


• Strong safeguarding knowledge, including confidence identifying concerns and following appropriate referral pathways.


• Experience supporting and developing nursing and care teams.


• A compassionate, resident-focused approach with a commitment to personalised care.

Supporting Excellent Care From the Front

• Work alongside the Home Manager to support the safe and effective operation of the service.


• Provide visible clinical leadership and guidance to nursing and care colleagues.


• Ensure residents receive safe, compassionate and individualised nursing care.


• Spend time with residents to understand their individual needs, preferences and experiences.


• Oversee and contribute to personalised care planning and regular reviews.


• Encourage residents and families to be actively involved in decisions about care.


• Identify safeguarding concerns and ensure appropriate referral pathways are followed.


• Maintain compliance with regulatory and clinical standards.


• Monitor the quality of care and contribute to audits and continuous improvement initiatives.


• Support nurses and care colleagues with their ongoing development and clinical practice.


• Build positive relationships with residents, relatives, visitors and external healthcare professionals.


• Promote a culture where quality, dignity and residents’ individual choices remain central to everyday care.
