SEND Support Assistant | Chelmsford

SEND Support Assistant – The Role

• Provide tailored 1:1 and small-group support to primary school pupils with additional learning needs.


• Support pupils’ academic progress, personal development, independence and confidence.


• Work closely with class teachers and the SENCo to deliver engaging, inclusive learning experiences.


• Build positive relationships with pupils, including those who may display challenging behaviour.


• Help create a safe, nurturing and supportive classroom environment where every child can thrive.

The Ideal SEND Support Assistant Will:

• Hold a First-Class or 2:1 degree from a leading UK university.


• Have a genuine interest in Special Educational Needs and Disabilities and a desire to develop expertise across different areas of SEND.


• Be confident, enthusiastic, patient and committed to supporting children’s development.


• Demonstrate strong communication and relationship-building skills.


• Be eager to gain practical experience within a primary school setting.
