Portfolio Manager - Manager Selection, International Equities

Role Responsibilities 

• Lead and support activities related to incumbent and prospective managers across the external equities manager line-up.

• Work with the Head of Manager Selection to research, identify, analyse, shortlist and recommend external managers.

• Work with the Head of Manager Selection and other team members to develop and enhance a robust monitoring framework for incumbent and prospective managers.

• Maintain strong relationships with external managers and act as a key point of contact for external manager relationships.

• Build strategic relationships with key external managers and create links between external managers and internal teams to support knowledge sharing and enhance overall portfolio outcomes.

• Strong understanding of global core equity universe with over 15 years’ experience.  

• Prepare detailed investment reports and presentations for senior management and stakeholders.

• Stay abreast of market developments, regulatory changes, and industry news to inform investment strategies.

• Participate in meetings with company management, industry experts, and other stakeholders to gather insights and build relationships.

• Mentorship & development of junior team members. 

Governance and Compliance 

• Operate and make decisions in accordance with the Fund’s policies, standards, procedures, Key Decision Registers and delegated authorities.

• Ensure relevant legislative and organisational requirements are met and remain up to date on key regulatory changes.

• Ensure appropriate and relevant governance structures, policies and processes are followed, and advocate for their continuous improvement.

• Ensure risk is managed in accordance with the Fund’s Risk Management Framework, including risk identification and management, risk profiling, risk reporting and incident management.

What we’re looking for in prospective candidates 

• CFA designation is highly desirable

• Proven experience in global equities investment, supporting an externally mandated investment strategy with multiple external managers. 

• Excellent analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and financial statements.

• Strong knowledge of global equity markets, including key drivers, trends, and risks.

• Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely.

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.

• A high level of integrity, professionalism, and commitment to ethical standards.
