An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Quality Engineer to join a well-established precision engineering and manufacturing business supplying high-specification components into highly regulated industries.
This is a key role within the Quality team, offering the chance to drive continuous improvement, influence manufacturing processes, and work closely with customers, suppliers and internal teams to ensure the highest standards of quality are achieved.
You'll play an integral role in New Product Introduction (NPI), support business-wide quality initiatives, investigate quality issues, and help develop robust systems that deliver operational excellence.
The Role
Reporting to the QHSE Manager, you'll be responsible for developing and implementing quality improvement initiatives across the business while ensuring products consistently meet customer and regulatory requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
Supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) by ensuring quality requirements are fully understood and implemented. Producing quality documentation including FAIRs, Quality Plans and Inspection Test Plans. Leading investigations into customer, supplier and internal non-conformances using structured problem-solving techniques. Driving effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to prevent recurrence. Conducting internal process audits and supplier audits to maintain compliance with quality standards. Working closely with production teams to ensure process improvements do not compromise product quality. Monitoring quality performance through meaningful KPIs and continuous improvement activities. Supporting customers and suppliers on quality-related issues. About You
We're looking for a proactive Quality Engineer who enjoys solving problems, improving processes and working collaboratively across manufacturing operations.
You'll ideally have:
Proven Quality Engineering experience within a manufacturing or precision engineering environment. Experience producing First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR) in accordance with AS9102. Strong understanding of quality methodologies including: Root Cause Analysis (RCA) Corrective & Preventive Actions (CAPA) PPAP APQP MSA (Gauge R&R) SPC The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings including GD&T. Knowledge of machining processes including CNC turning, milling and conventional machining. Experience working with customers, suppliers and cross-functional teams. Excellent communication and organisational skills. A proactive approach with strong attention to detail. Desirable
HNC in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Production Engineering. Lean Six Sigma Green Belt. Internal or External Auditor qualification. Experience programming CMMs (online and offline).
