Job Description - Red Flag Global Director

This position supports the Red Flag Global practice which is part of the Strategic Finance Business Group at Ankura Consulting Group

Practice overview

Red Flag is a world-leading strategic communications and campaigns agency that has developed, driven and won campaigns for some of the world’s leading companies, trade associations and coalitions. We are now part of Ankura, the world-leading expert services and advisory firm, who have more than 2,000 staff across 35 offices around the globe.  

Role Overview

As a Director, you will play a key role in both client leadership and business growth. You will work with multinational clients across UK, European and global campaigns while driving new business and expanding strategic relationships.

You will work as part of an international team servicing multi-national clients on UK, European and Global campaigns. Business development is a core expectation of this role.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development, execution and evaluation of strategic communications and public affairs campaigns for major multinational clients

  • Own and deliver against a personal new business revenue target, leading pitches and proposals from origination through to close

  • Convert prospects into long-term clients, building enduring and trusted partnerships

  • Drive account growth and profitability, expanding existing client engagements while securing new mandates

  • Leverage and continuously develop a strong senior network of clients, partners and intermediaries to sustain a robust business pipeline

  • Oversee campaign planning, budgeting, and performance measurement, ensuring high-quality and commercially successful delivery

  • Ensure campaigns and projects are delivered on time, on budget, and aligned with strategic objectives and growth targets

  • Maintain clear and proactive communication with internal stakeholders, including senior leadership

  • Provide leadership, mentorship and direction to team members, fostering a high-performance culture aligned with Red Flag’s values.

Requirements

We are looking for candidates with a strong blend of strategic expertise, commercial acumen, and leadership capability.

  • Demonstrable experience in strategic communications, public affairs, or campaigns (agency or consultancy background preferred)

  • Proven ability to win new business, including leading pitches and managing sales pipelines

  • Strong commercial mindset, with experience managing revenue targets and driving profitability

  • Established senior network across corporate, political, regulatory or advisory environments

  • Experience leading complex, multi-market campaigns for international clients

  • Excellent client relationship management skills, with the ability to operate at C-suite level

  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities

  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills

  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, global environment

  • Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving and analytical skills
