This is an opportunity to make a tangible difference by helping colleagues manage risk, strengthen safety standards and embed a positive culture where everyone takes responsibility for their own safety and the wellbeing of others. Non-Negotiables - BPSS + SC Key Responsibilities Delivering competent SHE advice and practical support to line leaders, helping them manage risks and meet their responsibilities. Supporting the development, implementation and maintenance of SHE policies, processes, objectives and assurance activities in line with BAE Systems requirements and recognised standards, including ISO 45001 and ISO 14001. Supporting initiatives and change programmes that improve SHE performance, strengthen risk management and embed best practice across the business. Helping identify, assess and control workplace risks, while providing assurance that relevant legal, regulatory and internal requirements are being met. Supporting incident investigations, reporting findings and helping ensure lessons are learned and shared to prevent recurrence. Collating and analysing SHE data, preparing performance reports and identifying opportunities to improve safety, health and environmental outcomes. Key Skills A good understanding of safety, health and environmental management principles, standards and best practice. The ability to interpret and apply SHE policies, procedures and management systems within an operational environment. Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the confidence to advise and influence colleagues at different levels. A proactive approach to risk management, problem-solving and continuous improvement. NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety. Level 3 NVQ in Occupational Safety and Health Practice. IEMA or NEBOSH Certificate in Environmental Management. An equivalent qualification in a relevant subject Experience within submarine, marine, nuclear, defence, pharmaceutical or other safety-critical control system environments would be highly beneficial.
