Sen Teaching Assistant

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a welcoming mainstream primary school in Chesterfield. The school provides an inclusive and supportive environment where every child is encouraged to develop academically, socially and emotionally.

The school is looking to appoint an SEN Teaching Assistant on a full-time, long-term basis from September 2026 until July 2027, working Monday to Friday from 8.30am to 3.30pm. The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will support KS2 children through 1:1 and small group work, helping pupils with learning difficulties and challenging behaviours to engage positively with their education.

The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will have:

• A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable
• Experience supporting primary-aged children with special educational needs / SEN
• Experience delivering 1:1 and small group interventions
• Confidence supporting children with challenging behaviours and learning difficulties
• A patient, resilient and caring approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
