About the Role
We are seeking an experienced, passionate and dedicated SENCO to join our caring and inclusive primary school from September 2026. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated professional who is committed to ensuring that all pupils, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), achieve their full potential.
The successful candidate will lead and manage SEND provision across the school, working closely with pupils, families, teaching staff, external agencies and senior leaders to deliver outstanding support and outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the strategic development of SEND provision across the school. Coordinate and monitor support for pupils with SEND. Ensure compliance with the SEND Code of Practice and relevant legislation. Work collaboratively with teachers to ensure quality first teaching and appropriate adaptations for all learners. Manage Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and annual reviews. Analyse progress data and evaluate the impact of interventions. Liaise effectively with parents, carers and external professionals. Support and develop staff through coaching, training and guidance. Contribute to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children.
We Are Looking For Someone Who:
Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). Has experience working with children with a range of SEND needs within a primary setting. Holds the National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO) or is willing to undertake the qualification. Demonstrates excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills. Has a strong understanding of current SEND legislation and best practice. Is committed to inclusion and ensuring every child thrives academically, socially and emotionally. Works effectively as part of a collaborative team.
