Job Description - Senior Accountant

We're delighted to be recruiting a Senior Accountant on behalf of a family-owned accountancy practice based in Blaby. This vacancy offers the opportunity to join a friendly and supportive team, working with a varied client portfolio while building long-term professional relationships. The successful candidate will join a respected practice that places great value on client relationships, professional development and delivering a high-quality service.

£38,000 - £42,000 per annum

Monday to Thursday 9:00am to 4:45pm, Friday 9:00am to 4:00pm

33-hour working week with a 30-minute lunch break

25 days annual leave plus bank holidays

Duties and responsibilities

Prepare statutory accounts for a varied portfolio of business clients

Produce management accounts and financial reports as required

Prepare and review VAT returns in line with current regulations

Assist with the preparation of personal and corporate tax returns

Manage and develop client relationships, acting as a key point of contact

Provide accounting and taxation advice to clients

Review work completed by junior team members and provide guidance and support where required

Required skills and experience

AAT qualified

Minimum of four years' experience working within an accountancy practice

Good working knowledge of Xero (essential), Dext, QuickBooks and TaxCalc

Experience preparing accounts for a varied client portfolio

Good working knowledge of VAT and tax compliance requirements

Excellent communication and client relationship management skills

Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team

Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to other office location in Leicestershire or client premises when required
