Based on resume.pdf Poor fit Strong fit See why Senior Aircraft Mechanical Supervisor Location: RAF Valley, Isle of Anglesey Position: Permanent Salary: £37,271.74 + £3,978 shift allowance Reference: SF73192 Overview Morson Edge is supporting a leading aerospace and defence organisation in the recruitment of a Senior Aircraft Mechanical Supervisor to support Hawk fast jet aircraft maintenance operations at RAF Valley. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced aircraft mechanical engineer looking to step into a leadership position within a highly respected military aviation environment. You'll play a key role in supervising maintenance activities, supporting aircraft availability, and ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, and airworthiness are maintained. Based on the Isle of Anglesey, RAF Valley offers the chance to work within an operational fast jet environment while enjoying a unique coastal lifestyle and strong engineering community. Home of UK fast jet pilot training operations Well-established military aviation engineering environment Strong team culture and operational focus Coastal location offering excellent work-life balance Stable programme supporting ongoing aircraft operations 36-hour early shift pattern Key Responsibilities Lead and supervise mechanical maintenance activities on aircraft and aircraft components Allocate and oversee maintenance tasks within approved authorisation levels Ensure all maintenance activities are completed in accordance with approved procedures and airworthiness requirements Carry out and supervise inspections, repairs, modifications, and component replacements Support fault diagnosis and rectification activities Monitor maintenance progress against programme requirements and operational priorities Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers and technicians Ensure compliance with aviation safety, quality, and regulatory standards Maintain accurate maintenance documentation and records Promote a safe, efficient, and professional working environment Requirements Previous experience supervising aircraft mechanical maintenance activities Strong aircraft maintenance and fault-finding experience Proven leadership capability within a regulated aviation environment Good understanding of aviation safety, quality, and airworthiness requirements Experience working within military aviation, fast jet, or comparable operational aircraft environments Evidence of maintenance currency and recency through logbook records Ability to work effectively within a safety-critical engineering environment Qualifications Completed engineering apprenticeship (Aeronautical or military equivalent preferred) City & Guilds 2675 or 2661 in Aeronautical Engineering and Maintenance, or equivalent recognised qualification Additional aircraft type training or military aviation qualifications advantageous Key Information Role: Senior Aircraft Mechanical Supervisor Location: RAF Valley, Isle of Anglesey Salary: £37,271.74 Hours: 36-hour early shift pattern Contract Type: Permanent Aircraft: Hawk Environment: Military / Fast Jet Aviation Security Clearance: BPSS eligibility required This is an opportunity to join a highly respected military aviation programme, combining leadership responsibility with hands-on aircraft maintenance in one of the UK's most unique operational environments.
