Location: UK‑wide field role with occasional international travel

An established engineering solutions provider is seeking a Field Service Engineer to support installation, commissioning, maintenance, and repair activities across a diverse customer base. This role is ideal for a multi‑skilled engineer who enjoys a varied position involving travel, technical problem‑solving, customer interaction, and hands‑on engineering work.

Key Responsibilities for Field Service Engineer

Carry out installation, commissioning, servicing, and repair of electro‑mechanical equipment.
Provide reactive and planned maintenance support across a range of customer sites around the UK and occasionally abroad
Diagnose faults and perform repairs on electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems.
Undertake strip‑down, rebuild, and testing of equipment within the workshop.
Deliver customer training on equipment operation and basic maintenance.
Maintain accurate service reports, documentation, and job records.
Travel across the UK and occasionally abroad as required. 

Experience & Skills Required for Field Service Engineer

Strong background in electro‑mechanical engineering, ideally within a field service or maintenance role.
Confident working on electrical/electronic systems including PLC‑based controls, inverters, sensors, and safety systems.
Solid mechanical aptitude with experience in strip‑down, rebuild, alignment, and precision mechanical work.
Ability to interpret electrical diagrams, mechanical drawings, and technical documentation.
Strong fault‑finding skills across electrical, electronic, and mechanical disciplines.
Flexible approach to working hours, travel, and varying job demands.
Good communication skills and the ability to deliver excellent customer service.
Competent IT skills for reporting, documentation, and communication.
A valid UK driving licence and passport.
NVQ Level 3 in electronics or mechanical.
