Contract: Permanent Salary: Basic salary of £32,000 per annum, rising to £34,000 after probation. Extra earning potential for overnight bonuses and overtime opportunities. (This will be explained in more detail during the interview process) Hours of work: This is primarily a field-based position , with most of the work conducted on remote customer sites across the UK, away from the Swansea HQ. 80 % field 20 % office base currently due to onsite project workload. About the Role Technically skilled Field Engineer. Carrying out pre-commission cleaning, chemical dosing, flushing, and associated water treatment activities on-site, ensuring all work is carried out in line with industry regulations and company standards. This role encapsulates a combination of fieldwork, technical reporting, and coordination with clients, contractors, and internal teams to deliver high-quality commissioning services on commercial and industrial projects. Working as part of the FMS/FMP Division, the role supports both internal and external customers by delivering high levels of customer satisfaction through strong technical expertise and efficient execution of system installations and flushing procedures. The focus is on the precise installation, calibration, and fluid monitoring of a wide range of systems. Skills Strong engineering knowledge around mechanical, chemical, and electrical disciplines/ Industrial engineering experience, with a strong focus on plumbing and water treatment systems Proven ability to read and interpret, schematics, and technical drawings Familiarity with construction methods, materials, and site-based project execution Proficiency in project management software and general IT systems, with a willingness to learn new tools Experience in writing Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) - In house training provided Working knowledge of chemical dosing systems and base-level understanding of corrosion chemistry Awareness of BSRIA BG29 & BG50 guidelines (support and training provided by senior team) Ability to interpret technical reports and respond to technical guidance requests Duties Conduct pre-commission cleaning of closed-loop heating and chilled water systems Carry out flushing in accordance with BSRIA BG29 and BG50 guidelines Perform system chemical dosing, and treatment of process water systems Pre Commissioning of systems to meet design specifications and regulatory standards Monitor and take samples for Laboratory subsequent interpretation of quality results. Review post-laboratory analysis results and recommend adjusted or additional treatment methods for the client. (In-house training will be provided; this responsibility will evolve as the role develops.) Prepare and deliver detailed commissioning and flushing reports for clients Liaise with site managers, engineers, and subcontractors to coordinate on-site activities Maintain accurate records of work carried out and chemicals used Assist in system troubleshooting, resolving operational issues, and supporting project close-out Project & Site Duties: Site-based working experience, including in challenging or inhospitable environments Physically fit and capable of undertaking hands-on field responsibilities Exposure to project management processes (formal PM experience desirable but not essential) Benefits Company Van - A clean driving licence is preferred. Drivers must be 23 and over for insurance purposes 27 days' annual leave plus Bank Holidays (pro rata where applicable) Company pension with an 8% employer contribution and a mandatory 4% employee contribution Private Medical Insurance following successful completion of probation (5 months) Please note: Candidates must be able to complete a DBS check, as slot work takes place on secure sites, including prisons and MOD locations.
