Team Manager – Children in Our Care

Lead, Inspire and Make a Lasting Difference

Salary: £51,356 – £55,612, Full Time 37 Hours Per Week
Location: Burnley

Are you an experienced social work leader passionate about improving the lives of children in our care? Lancashire County Council is looking for a dedicated Team Manager to lead a team of social care professionals committed to achieving the very best outcomes for children and young people.

What You'll Do

  • Lead and support a team of social workers and practitioners delivering services to children in our care. 
  • Ensure children receive timely, high-quality assessments, care planning and support. 
  • Drive excellent outcomes for children, young people, carers and families. [Team  
  • Provide strong leadership, supervision and professional development to your team. 
  • Work collaboratively with partners to ensure children access the right support at the right time
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, safeguarding and excellence in practice. 

What We're Looking For

We're seeking a qualified and registered Social Worker with:

  • A recognised Social Work qualification (CQSW, DipSW, BA Social Work or equivalent).  
  • Registration with Social Work England. 
  • Significant leadership experience within Children's Social Care. [Team  
  • Experience managing complex safeguarding and care proceedings. 
  • The ability to inspire, motivate and develop high-performing teams. [Team

You must be registered (SWE) to be appointed as a Social Worker or have applied to register with the Social Care Council. 

Interview to take place on 27th August 2026
