Temporary Finance Administrator

We are looking for a Finance Administrator to join our Finance team on a 6-month fixed-term contract based in Kendal. This role has been created to provide additional support during a period of organisational change, making it an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and wants to gain valuable experience across a broad range of finance activities. Working closely with the finance team, you will play a key role in supporting daily accounting processes and ensuring the smooth running of financial administration activities across multiple entities.

The successful candidate will be highly organised, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with financial data and systems. Responsibilities will include cash processing, reconciliations, journal posting, month-end support, and assisting with wider finance department activities. This position would suit someone with strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, who enjoys working collaboratively and takes pride in providing accurate and efficient support.

Key Responsibilities

Principal Accountabilities:

• Preparation Of Daily Cash Sheets for all Entities ready for AR to post.


• Update Cash Trackers and allocate bank transactions to departments (AR / AP).


• Post AR Cash for transactions with FX.


• Update Monthly Workbooks in readiness for Month End.


• Preparation of agreed monthly balance sheet reconciliations.


• Post ready prepped Journals onto SL7.


• Maintain and promote proper financial controls and specific SOX requirements.


• Support for key functions within the Accounts Department such as Accounts Payable


• Any other Ad Hoc duties as required by Finance Team


• Actively promote the Core Values within all work-based activities.

Skills and Knowledge required:

• Microsoft software knowledge i.e. Excel, outlook, windows explorer, internet explorer.


• Ability to learn Solomon (SL7) accounts package.


• Ability to process data accurately in an efficient manner


• Ability to communicate to employees at various levels within the company and outside stakeholders.

Working Conditions:

• Office based in Kendal.


• Working as part of a team

Systems and Equipment Used:

• SL7 or similar


• Desk top/laptop computers


• MS Office etc.

• Unless exceptional circumstances prevail, no holiday will be approved during the financial month end or the financial year end and that during these periods you will be expected to work overtime when requested to do so.
