Job Description - Test Career Site Arlo Workstudent

Verisure is seeking a talented, innovative, passionate HR Director to lead HR for its newly acquired Arlo Europe business. This acquisition is expected to close at the end of 2019.  

The Arlo HR Director will be a key member of the Arlo Management Team. The HR Director will lead the HR function for Arlo Europe, managing organizations across multiple geographies, with business-critical focus on talent acquisition, talent management, employee and labor relations and Compensation and Benefits.

Strategic context and Value proposition

Together with Arlo Technologies Inc. -the #1 internet connected camera brand, Verisure -as the leading provider of monitored security solutions in Europe, has recently announced that we are creating a strategic partnership that leverages both our companies’ capabilities to create incremental scale to address ever-growing demand for residential and commercial security

Our strategic partnership includes two connected elements:

  • Transfer of Arlo’s European commercial operations to Verisure: Verisure will acquire Arlo’s European commercial operations. This will include marketing and distribution of Arlo products and services, the Arlo brand in Europe, and Arlo’s existing installed base in Europe. Arlo will continue to own and grow its channels of distribution in territories outside of Europe. The combined insights and efforts between the two companies will accelerate the adoption of Arlo’s products and services globally.
  • Multi-channel supply partnership: In connection with Verisure’s addition of Arlo’s retail and e-commerce go-to-market channelsArlo will become a key supplier to Verisure for smart security cameras. Verisure will also purchase associated cloud services from Arlo, including artificial intelligence, computer vision and other advanced technologies.

In addition, you will be part of the broader HR Leadership Community, sharing best practices & contributing to the development of the overall HR function. In this aspect, you will be accountable to the Group CHRO.

Key Responsibilities 

In addition to the traditional responsibilities of a full Business Unit HR role, you will be responsible to innovate and impact, and will:

  • Be a strong “business partner” to the MD and the management team
    • Contribute to the business strategy
    • Establish HR priorities in close collaboration with the management team through a sound understanding of the business needs especially regarding strategic talent acquisition, organization design, talent strategy.
    • Align HR priorities with the business while importantly building and driving innovative analytical approach to HR
  • Set up, support, develop and accelerate the team that will drive the European business under this strategic partnership
  • Build the HR approach on rigorous analytics through the implementation of robust HR systems and KPIs that support and accelerate the business
  • Ensure Arlo Europe has the best talent to support fast growth by implementing efficient processes in order to attract/develop/engage/retain talent through efficient and dynamic processes.
  • Design and lead the engagement agenda with the objective to foster commitment and entrepreneurial spirit within the organization as a whole and proactively address any employee relations needs.
  • Create a high-performance organization with a strong “numbers-driven” culture and align culture with strategy to deliver business results.

Location

  • UK (Bracknell) or Ireland (Cork). Paris could be considered

Remuneration

  • Compensation package able to attract high caliber candidates in the spectrum of this search

Reports and organization structure

  • Direct reporting line into the Managing Director of Arlo Europe, key accountability to the Group CHRO

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Experiences and Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in business administration, business management, finance, or related fields
  • HR leader having worked with all facets of HR, including Recruitment, Talent Management, Compensation & Benefits, Labour Relations
  • Circa 8-10 years total experience:
    • experience gained in global, fast paced, and commercially focused organizations
    • with some of it in management/strategic consulting firm
    • if no consulting background, evidence of working in a strategic and advisory capacity – strong consulting mindset and business partnering approach
  • Strong analytical skills to create focused action plans and drive insights through HR performance and efficiency metrics
  • Strong plan design, project management and implementation experience; proven track record of getting things done - effectively support the fast growth of the entity and ensure the professionalization of processes.
  • Ability to work effectively at both strategic and operational levels - strategic thinker, who can develop a clear agenda for the Human Resources function and be a business partner to the local management and Group HR function in developing a strong future for the group.
  • Experienced with developing overall capabilities of a business entity. Effective talent management approaches to increase retention next to developing skills and capabilities.
  • Previous experience working in an environment where there is a high level of integration and change management.
  • Ability to manage and participate in multiple projects, priorities, and internal client groups, manage timelines, and escalate issues as needed
  • Ability to work with diverse and remote teams
  • Ability to research best practices and network internally and externally
  • Excellent MS Office skills (MS Excel, MS PowerPoint)
  • Language fluency – English is the Company's operational language, fluency in other languages is highly valued. 
  • International experience and capability to work across boundaries and multicultural environments
