The Role
Baird Capital is seeking an Intern to join the London team for 6 weeks over the summer, starting mid-July. You will work from our London office alongside the investment team to provide research to support to the team in assessing businesses and sub-sectors of interest, alongside supporting the team’s business development activities to find and identify attractive businesses to invest in. This is a long established and very senior investment team with a wealth of experience and a reputation for an honest and straightforward approach to investing.
Your key tasks will include:
Conducting research to identify potential companies to invest in, using a combination of techniques used by the team including:
Identifying privately-owned companies within sub-sectors of interest.
Reviewing and researching investment portfolios of smaller private equity investors.
Proprietary research to identify high-growth businesses that demonstrate potential for further growth.
Ad-hoc support for potential new investments and existing portfolio companies.
Preparing content about sub-sectors of interest to be used internally and for our digital marketing activities.
General housekeeping on Salesforce including cleaning up data, contacts and Baird Capital relationships
Candidate Profile
Skills and Qualifications:
A student (undergraduate or post-graduate) or recent graduate.
Articulate with strong IT skills, including fluency in all major office applications (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
Experience and/or knowledge of Mergers & Acquisitions, Private Equity, Corporate Finance and/or Strategy Consulting would be advantageous.
Excellent research skills.
Excellent attention to detail, written and oral communication skills

An ability to work independently at times, with guidance and support where necessary
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
A strong work ethic and prepared to go beyond the call of duty
