Swarm is working with Rockthorn in their search for a Level 4 Sales Executive Apprentice. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people, is commercially minded and wants to develop a long-term career in professional sales.

The role offers a full-time permanent position after the apprenticeship (depending on performance), where you can continue within the role or with possible progression.

A fast-growing Norfolk based company providing reliable and efficient plant hire across the UK. Plant hire suppliers proud to supply everything from diggers to telehandlers.

About the Apprenticeship

As a Sales Executive Apprentice, you'll learn and develop your sales skills while working as part of the experienced sales team.

You'll have the opportunity to get involved in the full sales journey, from identifying potential customers and building relationships through to preparing quotations, following up opportunities and securing business.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Building strong relationships with new and existing customers.


• Responding to customer enquiries and understanding their requirements.


• Identifying new business opportunities.


• Making outbound sales calls and following up leads.


• Preparing and following up quotations.


• Developing and maintaining a sales pipeline.


• Supporting existing customer accounts and developing long-term relationships.


• Identifying opportunities for repeat and additional business.


• Developing your negotiation and commercial skills.


• Working towards agreed sales targets.


• Keeping accurate records of customer and sales activity.


• Working closely with our Sales, Operations, Hire Desk and Accounts teams.


• Attending networking and business development activities where appropriate.

What you will learn

Alongside your role at Rockthorn, you'll complete a Level 4 Sales Apprenticeship with an approved training provider.

You'll have dedicated time to develop your knowledge and skills in areas including:

• Professional sales techniques.


• Customer relationship management.


• Business development.


• Consultative selling.


• Negotiation.


• Account management.


• Commercial awareness.


• Sales planning and forecasting.


• Customer needs analysis.


• Sales technology and CRM.


• Communication and presentation skills.

Most importantly, you'll have the opportunity to put your learning into practice every day in a real commercial sales environment.

Hours and Pay

Working hours: Office Based. 7:30am – 5:00pm, Monday to Friday. Half an hour lunch. 45 hours per week
Starting Pay: £8.00 per hour (Bonuses/Commission available in the future)

Previous sales experience isn't essential. We're interested in your attitude, potential and willingness to learn.

Customer service, retail, telesales, business administration or other experience involving communication with customers would be beneficial but is not essential.

Training Information

Training will be with Swarm Training, a national provider of apprenticeships throughout the UK. The successful candidate will work towards the Level 4 Sales Executive apprenticeship; this apprenticeship will take around 18 months to complete with assessments.

The apprentice must complete a minimum of 6 hours of work each week during working hours while progressing towards their qualification. A tutor will conduct training sessions once a month, during which the apprentice will receive tasks to be completed within their working hours.
