OPS Government Operations Consultant II


Specific Responsibilities:



  • Serves as Contract Manager for all clinical laboratory services and other clinical contracts as assigned.

  • Perform and verify completion of routine and required maintenance for laboratory equipment, including but not limited to centrifuges and microscopes.

  • Assist in managing clinic inventory of laboratory supplies through ordering and procurement.

  • Work collaboratively with staff and program teams to facilitate the prompt entry of point‑of‑care testing results into the Health Management System.

  • Conduct daily reconciliation of lab error reports and address identified issues promptly.

  • Oversee laboratory order management, including the resolution of inactive, duplicate, and other order discrepancies.

  • Serve as the liaison for State and commercial laboratories. Conduct regular review and verification of State and commercial laboratory charges, including insurance reconciliation as needed.

  • Collaborate with the finance team to monitor laboratory charges and collections.



  • Provide staff development and ongoing training on laboratory collection and processing requirements.



  • Maintain training logs documenting staff proficiency and ongoing competency in phlebotomy, point‑of‑care testing, and other required skills.



  • Ensure quality control procedures are followed, and that all required logs and records are accurately maintained (e.g., point‑of‑care testing, temperature logs).



  • Assist in development and/or review of laboratory processes and procedures as needed.



  • Participate in work-groups and/or on committees as needed.



  • Participate in direct patient care by collecting and/or processing laboratory specimens.



  • Incumbent may be required to work before, during and/or beyond normal work hours or days in the event of an emergency.  Emergency duty required of the incumbent includes working in special needs shelters, or performing other emergency duties including, but not limited to, responses to or threats involving any disaster or threat of disaster, man-made or natural.



  • Perform other duties as assigned.
