Summer Laborer

Albany County is seeking to hire a Summer Part-Time Laborer to assist with grounds and facility maintenance. This position will perform a variety of manual labor tasks, including yard work, mowing, weeding, raking, and other general duties as assigned. The position will also support the Courthouse Building & Grounds Superintendent with daily responsibilities and may assist in carrying out those duties in the Superintendent’s absence. All work must be completed in a timely, safe, and professional manner.

This is a part-time, non-benefited position working up to 30 hours per week. Typical hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Ability to follow directions and work independently with minimal supervision


• Basic knowledge of landscaping practices and equipment


• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds


• Willingness to perform manual labor requiring moderate physical effort


• Skill in the safe and proper use of hand and power tools


• Working knowledge of general safety practices and procedures


• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks


• Ability to maintain a positive and professional work ethic


• Other duties as assigned

Pre-Employment Requirements:
Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check and pre-employment drug screening.

Salary:
$20.00 per hour
