Patient Care Coordinator is a Medical Assistant who handles all back office preparation for patient care. Strictly follows all practice policies and procedures, including all HIPAA related policies and procedures.
essential functions:

pcc duties:
Performs selected patient care duties, which include but are not limited to the collection and management of patient clinical information.
Rooms patients after paperwork is complete. The PCC documents chief complaint, vital signs, and updates health record in patient's chart. The PCC keeps patient flow moving smoothly and efficiently.
Prepares exam rooms with necessary equipment and supplies.
Orders and maintains clinical and office supplies as required.
Relays physician’s instructions as directed. Processes prescription refills, form completion, patient messages, etc.
Processes labs that have been collected in office.
Administers injections as ordered by physicians.
Assists physicians with clinical procedures.
Obtains physician’s authorization for diagnostic tests and referrals, procedures, and medication, etc.
Reschedules patient appointments as necessary.
Performs related tasks/assignments as necessary.
Assists in Medical Records with scanning and filing.
Complies with established organizational policies and procedures of WTMF.
Completes work queues as assigned.
Performs related tasks/assignments as necessary.
Assists with Quality Assurance practices including monthly check of Log Binder to assure complete and accurate recordings of:
Refrigerator temperature
Freezer temperature
Crash cart checklist
Auto Clave
Quality control on machines including licensing renewal and maintenance
Lead Responsibilities:
Oversees triaging of patients
Oversees and potentially assists physicians with procedures
Makes daily rounds to monitor patient flow and assist with back office functions
Consults with Lead Front Office Receptionist, Site Manager and Physicians on any questions or concerns that may arise with respect to patient care.
Consults with Site Manager with questions regarding personnel issues of direct reports.
Obtains authorizations where necessary
Supervises externs.
Provides leadership and direction to back office staff.
Promotes teamwork and moral support among staff.
Assists the staff in triaging, patient discharge, patient relation’s etc., to maintain a smooth patient flow.
Advises patients of test results
Processes labs that have been collected in office
Injections as ordered by physicians
Delegates work assignments and objectives to each shift including such tasks as:
Checking expiration dates on all medication
Prepping and cleaning exam rooms
Inventory/stocking supplies
Assisting with quality assurance
Assists in writing performance evaluations
Promotes effective communication between staff and management through the use of staff meetings.
Shares responsibility with the office manager for QA programs including chart audits, utilization of resources, log book maintenance and equipment checks.
Assists in the orientation instruction and continuing education needs of the staff including annual review and in-service training.
Utilizes the performance standards to assure uniformity of compliance and competency in clinical skills.
Scheduling
Assisting in staffing appropriately during sick calls, influx of patient load, etc.
Understands Washington Township Medical Group, Inc. policies and procedures regarding staffing needs.
Keeps abreast of staff availability and encourages flexibility of covering shifts.
Is responsible for covering shifts when other avenues have been exhausted.
Collaborates with Site Manager on staffing concerns and problems.

Tracking of inventory and supplies including:
Medical supplies
Participates in lean 5s workflows
Exam room inventory
In-house medications
Tracking of inventory orders to the appropriate location in office
community relations
Promotes a positive relationship with client corporations
Assists with educational programs
Promotes patient surveys, which will encourage feedback on our services

qualifications and Education Requirements
High School graduate or GED required.
Training in an accredited program for medical assisting required, certification preferred.
Minimum of 2-3 years previous medical office experience in patient care.
