2027 Summer Program Teacher Course Proposal

We're looking for experienced educators who have a passion for teaching! For over 23 years, the Pasadena Educational Foundation’s Summer Enrichment Program has mixed academic subjects with hands-on exploration to help prepare students for the upcoming school year.

Our 5-week morning program has 2 formats.

• Younger students (TK - 2nd grade) will spend the entire morning program in one intro classroom.


• Older students (grades 2 and up) split their morning schedule into 3 blocks. Each block is a little over an hour long and has a different group of students. Most teachers teach the same class in each block.

This year, our program is for students in grades TK-8. We no longer offer courses designed for high school students.

Please note:

• Both current-PUSD and non-PUSD employees are welcome to apply.


• Prior employment by PEF does not guarantee a position for the 2027 summer program.


• Employment is dependent on actual enrollment numbers, and will be confirmed in May 2027.


• Employment is dependent upon verification and timely completion (before the program starts) of all mandated payroll tax forms (W-4, DE4), employment eligibility forms (I-9), a background check, and other payroll onboarding tasks that may be assigned.


• Teachers must commit to 5 working hours per day, Monday through Thursday mornings, for the entire 5-week program from mid-June to mid-July 2027. Exact dates and times TBD.


• This is a temporary, seasonal, part-time position that does not include paid time off or benefits.

Courses are chosen based on proposal strength, student projects/activities, teacher qualifications, cost of materials, and student/parent interest. You will be notified as soon as more details of the program are determined, which may not be until late January 2025. All applicants will receive a response.
