7th Grade Science Teacher

GEO Prep Academy is a tuition-free, public charter school that serves students in grades K-8. Our dedicated faculty and staff are committed to providing an outstanding education for students each day as they transition from elementary to middle school to high school and COLLEGE. Our curriculum and teaching methods are designed using Core Knowledge in K-8 and a blended learning model in elementary school through high school.  We are a TAP school!    

REPORTS TO/TERM: 

Principal 

This is a 10-month position.

KEY FUNCTIONS:

- Develop and implement engaging science curriculum aligned with state standards.

- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and collaboration.

- Utilize a variety of teaching methods and resources to accommodate different learning styles.

- Assess and evaluate student progress through assignments, tests, and projects.

- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues regarding student performance and classroom activities.

- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay current with educational best practices.

- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to support interdisciplinary learning and school initiatives.

Requirements

-Bachelor’s degree in Education, Science, or a related field.

- Valid teaching certification for middle school science.

- Strong knowledge of 7th-grade science curriculum and instructional strategies.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to create a supportive and engaging learning environment.

- Strong organizational and time management skills.

- Commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive classroom.
