Access Control Ofc (FG) (Part -Time)

The Access Control Officer (Front Gate) maintains the security of the Ocean Reef Community by verifying the identity of all persons entering the property and visually checking all vehicles leaving the property.

 SPECIFIC DUTIES (INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO)

• Ensures compliance with Ocean Reef Community Association (ORCA) policies concerning access to community.


• Records and verifies daily and/or weekly clearances for individuals entering the property under valid sponsorship.


• Assists in random vehicle checks and searches.


• Maintains a professional appearance within and around the Front Gate area.


• Frequently uses computerized gate entry system, telephones, radios, and other electronic devices.


• Uses lists and directories of residents, members, and guests.


• Remains vigilant at his/her post to detect unauthorized persons attempting to enter and exit the Ocean Reef Community and takes appropriate action.


• May be assigned additional duties as deemed necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS

•  Strong organizational and communication skills (written and oral).


• Must be able to speak clearly in person or by phone.


• Must possess exceptional customer skills, and be friendly, confident & personable.


• Ability to interpret and enforce policies and procedures.


• Must remain composed and be compassionate in situations.


• Knowledge of Public Safety components with emphasis in Security.


• Knowledge of computers, data and word processing.


• Ability to recognize specific colors, designs and logos.


• Frequently required to stand and talk or listen.


• Required to walk, use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects, ID cards, gate controls, and reach with hands and arms.


• Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.


• Specific vision abilities, including close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent is required.  An Associate’s Degree from an accredited College or University is preferred.

Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of security, front gate entry, or related experience required.

Licenses: Valid Florida Driver License, Florida Class D Security License (or ability to obtain within three (3) months of hire)
