Job Description - Account Director - Global Business Transient Sales




Seeking an ACCOUNT DIRECTOR - GLOBAL BUSINESS TRANSIENT SALES! 







The Account Director is responsible for the development and execution of strategic sales and marketing for the business transient market segment on behalf of the brand.. This includes solicitation and management of volume corporate accounts at the local and global account level with corporations and travel management companies.





BUSINESS RESULTS

 

• Develop and manage the business transient segment through solicitation of new and existing accounts to meet/exceed business travel goals through prospecting, outside sales calls, and written communication.

• Participate in the development of the annual sales and marketing plan

• Develop action plans in an effort to achieve established goals

• Monitor actual sales and revenues to determine variance and assess goal accomplishments and adjust strategies accordingly.

• Manage annual RFP process on behalf of the brand.

• Communicate a clear and consistent message regarding business goals to produce desired results.

• Review and communicate financial and other reports according to policy and practice. Be prepared to support findings with analysis.

• Coordinate ongoing research of the industry to detect market trends and related information for development of new marketing strategies; make reasonable recommendations to improve potential from the business transient market.

• Generate revenue and brand awareness through attendance at key industry tradeshows and events.

 

LEADERSHIP & EXECUTION

 

• Generate business opportunities and assist on property sales teams through the sales process in an effort to drive business ultimately generating revenues for the hotels and the company.

• Prepare and manage an annual budget for travel and other business expenses.

• Champion change, ensure brand and business initiatives are implemented.

• Collaborate with internal and external business partners.

• Communicate issues and concerns at all levels of the organization

• Communicate with relevant leadership team regarding issues, risk and liability concerns, or other important business matters.

• Coordinate and participate in different events and activities. (blitzes, trade shows, fairs, familiarization trips, site inspections, etc.).






Requirements

MINIMUM (EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, ATTRIBUTES & TRAVEL)

 

• Must have 3-5 years experience in hospitality management, including 3 years in business transient sales at the global level

• Must have a bachelors degree; preferably in hospitality management from an accredited institution.

• Deep understanding of lifestyle hotels.

• Must have a thorough understanding of the RFP and Consortia process.

• Travel to key local, regional and/or global industry tradeshows may be required.

• Must be a self starter with an entrepreneurial spirit.

• Position to be based in the Northeast; preferably Manhattan, CT, or Northern New Jersey





SKILLS (LANGUAGE, MATHEMATICAL, TECHNICAL & REASONING)

 

• Ability to perform assigned duties with attention to detail, speed, accuracy, follow-through, courtesy and minimal supervision

• Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills. Comprehend and use technical or professional language, either written or spoken, to communicate information and ideas.

• Must possess strong listening skills

• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

• Multiple language abilities preferred, fluency in English required.

• Perform numerical operations using basic counting, adding, subtracting, multiplying or dividing.

• Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers and staff; some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact, and diplomacy.

• Excellent computer skills including Delphi, Lanyon and Microsoft Office ( Excel and PowerPoint).

• Use logic to define problem, collect information, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, interpret information and deal with abstract variables for unique or unfamiliar situations.
