Job Description - ACLS Instructor

Fort HealthCare is a patient-centered hospital and healthcare system serving individuals, businesses and families in Jefferson, Dane, and Walworth Counties. We are seeking an ACLS Instructor to join our Community Health & Wellness team.

The ACLS instructor teaches the advanced American Heart Association (AHA) ACLS class as needed.


Responsibilities of this position include: 



  • Serves as the AHA ACLS Instructor for Fort HealthCare, complying with duties as outlined in the current AHA Program Administration Manual (PAM) and maintains current certification in American Heart Association (AHA) ACLS Instructor. Facilitate four (4) courses per curriculum every 2 years and adhere to current AHA Guidelines and the PAM.

  • Instructs advanced AHA Courses using the current AHA guidelines by monitoring and evaluating individual students’ performance and provides coaching, correcting and mentoring using course curriculum in accordance to AHA Guidelines.

  • Properly prepares and sets up for AHA courses ensuring availability of necessary equipment for students, including manequins, barrier devices and AED’s, and decontamination and cleaning as appropriate of all materials in use.

  • Prepares and finishes paperwork.


Requirements of this position include: 



  • High School Diploma or GED required

  • AHA ACLS Instructor experience preferred

  • Maintains all requirements as mandated by AHA/PAM. Excellent teaching, interpersonal and communication skills; confident in speaking to groups of class participants; clearly communicates instructions, ideas and techniques.

  • Current AHA ACLS Instructor Course certification upon hire
