Acquisition Specialist / Acquisition Subject Matter Expert (SME)

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Acquisition Specialist / Acquisition Subject Matter Expert (SME) to serve as the Functional Lead supporting federal acquisition activities. The ideal candidate will have strong federal contracting and procurement experience, a thorough understanding of the contract file lifecycle, and the ability to provide strategic, business, and technical guidance throughout the acquisition process.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the Acquisition Functional Lead/SME for federal acquisition and contracting activities.


• Provide subject matter expertise on federal acquisition principles, policies, and procedures.


• Manage and support the contract filing process and contract file lifecycle, including required documentation.


• Review and maintain contract files to ensure required acquisition documentation is complete and properly organized.


• Provide strategic direction and recommendations to advance acquisition-related projects.


• Support acquisition planning, procurement management, contract administration, and related activities.


• Provide business, technical, product, and acquisition-related guidance to project stakeholders.


• Develop and maintain acquisition documentation, reports, procedures, and other project deliverables.


• Apply knowledge comparable to Federal Acquisition Certification in Contracting (FAC-C) competencies.


• Collaborate with government and contractor stakeholders to identify acquisition requirements, resolve issues, and support project objectives.


• Provide critical acquisition services and guidance throughout the contract lifecycle.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.


• At least 6 years of federal acquisition/contracting experience.


• Demonstrated experience in government acquisition or procurement management.


• Strong understanding of federal acquisition and contracting principles.


• Knowledge of the contract file lifecycle, contract filing processes, and documentation required for a complete contract file.


• Experience providing strategic direction, acquisition guidance, documentation, and related support for government projects.


• Knowledge and competencies comparable to those associated with FAC-C certification, through relevant training, education, or professional experience.


• Strong written and verbal communication skills.


• Ability to work effectively with government customers, acquisition professionals, project teams, and other stakeholders.
