Activities Aide

Inn at Village Square is seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic Activities Aide to support resident engagement and well-being at our assisted living community.

In this resident-focused role, you’ll plan and facilitate recreational, social, and enrichment activities tailored to residents’ individual interests, abilities, and goals. You’ll work closely with residents, families, volunteers, and colleagues to foster a welcoming, inclusive environment where everyone has opportunities to participate, connect, and maintain their independence.

About Inn at Village Square

Avesta Housing's Inn at Village Square is an assisted living facility for older adults who find it difficult to continue to live without assistance but who would like to continue to enjoy their independence in the comfort of a safe, secure, and friendly environment. What We're Looking for in an Employee:

• Commitment to quality services and treating residents with dignity and respect.
• Thorough understanding of the aging process.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with others and portray a positive, team-player attitude.

Education

• Associate degree preferred; high school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience

• Minimum of two years of experience in a long-term care or assisted living facility preferred.
• Experience using computers and Microsoft Office products.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt activities and services to residents’ individual needs.
• Excellent customer service, written communication, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Enthusiastic, energetic, and able to relate effectively to a variety of people and personalities.
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and a safe driving record; ability to safely operate a minivan and small bus seating 8–14 passengers.
• Able to fluently communicate in English.
• Willingness to undergo a criminal background check.

Certifications (preferred or required)

• Activity Coordinator Certification preferred.
• Personal Support Specialist (PSS), Residential Care Specialist I (RCS I), or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential preferred.
• Certified Residential Medication Aide (CRMA) credential preferred.

This is a non-exempt, part-time position that will work evenings and weekends. This position is fully on-site at our assisted living facility in Gorham, Maine. 

This is a non-exempt/hourly position that pays $17-20 per hour.
