Job Description - Administrator II - Category Assistant


Hannaford Supermarkets started out as a fresh produce vendor in Portland, Maine way back in 1883, and is still connected to those early roots as a local market. Hannaford actively seeks out farmers and producers to join our Local program which celebrates not only local foods, but the preservation of farmland, local traditions and local jobs. Position Summary:


Perform varied administrative and clerical duties for their assigned function within Category/Merchandising.


 


Primary Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Manage cost paperwork accuracy for category team and provide to them for timeline entry into pricing system.

  • Inputs new data into assigned database, report, or document.

  • Processes changes to data in assigned database as required and maintains log of actions related to change.

  • Maintains department records and files. As necessary, conducts regular review of assigned database, report, or various documents to identify discrepancies in data and ensure accuracy.

  • Corrects inaccurate data and maintains documentation of action or communication related to correction.

  • Assist with the validation of vendor submitted deals

  • Understands all item attributes (authorization, scanning, acis, etc.)

  • (Produce)Liaison for the Boston Market

  • Builds relationships across Hannaford, ACIS Accounting, and vendor partners


 


Qualifications and Experience:



  • 1-2 years of experience (clerical, administrative, retail, etc.)

  • Familiar with Microsoft Programs


 


Preferred: 



  • Associate degree

In-Store & Digital Shelf Management & Merchandising 



Ability to understand, create, and implement consistent in-store and digital merchandising and shelf management initiatives, utilizing related tools to support Hannaford’s strategies and direction. 



Internal & External Communication & Documentation 



Ability to communicate with internal partners and external suppliers across functions; Communication may be oral or written including formal presentations and required documentation 



Negotiation 



Ability to gain alignment between internal and external parties, while achieving positive business results 



Pricing & Promotion 



Ability to understand, develop, and implement pricing and promotion initiatives that support the Hannaford pricing strategy. 



Product, Category, & Industry Knowledge



Ability to apply understanding of food safety, product specifications, category, supplier & industry dynamics, and marketplace trends to deliver our desired business results



Product Development & Assortment 



Ability to develop and/or implement product development and assortment initiatives across all retail formats (On-Line & In-Store) to drive desired business results. 



Strategic Business Planning 



Ability to develop and implement comprehensive Category Leadership Solutions, including facilitating tactics and plans that deliver Hannaford’s strategy. 



System & Technology 



Knowledge and utilization of systems and tools to enable execution of strategies and objectives. 



 


The Pay Range for this Position is $20.43 - $30.63/hr.
