The Administrator is responsible for the daily operation of the Center. The Administrator, in conjunction with the Medical Director, shall construct and implement, following Board approval, all policies and procedures pertaining to the operation of the Center. The Administrator and the Medical Director will also market the Center using resources provided by the corporate office and the hospitals in overlap markets.
The Administrator in conjunction with the Medical Director shall ensure that the Center complies with the requirements of any governmental or regulatory body having jurisdiction in the premises or use of the Center, to meet such quality standards as set forth by the selected accrediting agency, and assist the Medical Staff to ensure that medical practices and procedures meet such standards. The Administrator shall use available resources to adequately maintain the physical property and equipment of the Center to assure good working order and conditions. The Administrator in conjunction with the Medical Director is responsible for achieving the objectives of the Center, establishing administrative policies in conjunction with the Medical Executive Committee of the Medical Staff, developing personnel policies, coordination activities within the Center with Department Heads, and assuring that the operations of the Center meet with a high standard of health care in accordance with the policies adapted by the Center and the resources available.
Surgery Center is a free standing ambulatory surgery center that benefits from a long term relationship with its 60 plus physician partners. The center opened in December 2004 and has continuously experienced growth and is planning future expansion. The center currently performs over 6000 cases per year in 4 operating rooms and 1 GI suites. Major specialties are gynecology, urology, orthopedics, general surgery, radiation oncology and podiatry.
Located on the edge of the Texas Hill Country, Austin is consistently named one of the top cities in the nation in which to live. Area attractions include two large recreational lakes, great college (University of Texas, Texas A&M) and professional (San Antonio Spurs, Round Rock Express) sports teams, and the "Live Music Capitol of the World.
The Administrator has a total of about 38-39 direct reports of which 28 are full time/part time employees.
Education Required: Graduate from an accredited college or university,Bachelors requiredEducation Preferred: Graduate from an accredited nursing school
Experience Required: A minimum of three (3) years Management experience, a health care background andmanaged care contracting experience is desired. Strong personal skills and a marketing "disposition", understanding and enthusiasm are essential. The Administrator must also have experience in budgeting and personnel management and evidence of continuing education that is directly related to the job specification.
** Please Note: Only candidates with a Registered Nurse degree are being considered for this position. In addition, VP of Operations is looking for a candidate that has Operating Room nursing experience**
