CHI St. Alexius Health is a regional health network with a tertiary hospital in Bismarck, the system also consists of critical access hospitals (CAHs) in Carrington, Dickinson, Devils Lake, Garrison, Turtle Lake, Washburn and Williston and numerous clinics and outpatient services.  CHI St. Alexius Health manages four CAHs in North Dakota - Elgin, Linton, and Wishek, as well as Mobridge Regional Medical Center in Mobridge, S.D. As our Advanced Counselor you will help by providing assessment and counseling services to individuals, couples, families, and groups to meet the psychosocial needs of individuals accessing care at Archway Mental Health Services.  Works under the direction of the Director of Archway Mental Health Services.  

Every day you will provide essential care within our supportive Behavioral Health department.Your day will be filled with opportunities to educate, support, and advocate for our patients, helping them navigate their behavioral health journey with dignity and respect.

To be successful in this role, you must apply best practice in counseling and therapy services. 

• Provides individual, marital, family, and group assessments and therapies.

• Demonstrates the ability to triage individuals in crisis by establishing appropriate interventions to maintain patient safety.

• Maintains accurate and timely patient records per the medical center standards.

• Demonstrates proficiency in advanced assessment and counseling skills.

• Ability to work effectively with diverse patient populations.  

• Serves as a patient advocate at all times, assists patients with accessing resources or additional referrals when needed. 

We are offering a $15,000 sign on bonus to new hires who meet the eligibility requirements.

Required:

• Licensed as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to collaborate effectively with other healthcare providers, and ability to develop therapeutic rapport with patients required. Experience with non-violent crisis intervention required
• CPR (BLS) certification current upon hire OR to be completed within 14 days of hire

Preferred:

• Prefer 5 years of clinical experience as a masters prepared social worker or counselor.
