Advanced Practice Provider in Medical Oncology,

About this role:

As an Advanced Practice Provider in Medical Oncology, you will work with a team of healthcare professionals committed to providing quality care and excellent patient experience.  In this role you will support Intermountain’s Telemedicine Oncology physicians providing care to patients in remote areas. You’ll be supported by the Cedar City and St. George Cancer Center’s team of physicians and APPs, along with ancillary support from the tele-med team.

• You will practice at Cedar City Cancer Center
• Enjoy a four-day, outpatient only clinic week
• There is no call obligation for this position
• This position includes $7,500 in relocation assistance if eligible

What you’ll bring:

• APRN or PA-C degree from an accredited program
• Active, unobstructed Utah medical license, or the ability to obtain one
• Ability to successfully complete Intermountain Health’s credentialing process

Life in Cedar City, Utah

The population of Cedar City is approximately 40,000. The area has recently experienced major population growth, and the trend is expected to continue.  The area is known for its breathtaking scenery and is the gateway to the nation’s largest concentration of national parks.  Recreational activities for the entire family include camping, hiking, backpacking, fishing and mountain biking. There is a moderate four-season climate, and during winter months residents can ski in the morning and play golf in nearby communities in the afternoon.  Educational opportunities are available through Utah Tech University and Southern Utah University (SUU).   Summer activities include the Utah Summer Games and the Utah Shakespeare Festival, recipient of the Tony Award for Outstanding Regional Theatre.

St. George is located in the Southwest corner of Utah, just 120 miles north of Las Vegas and 280 miles south of Salt Lake City. With a population of approximately 180,000, St. George offers a balanced lifestyle with stunning outdoor activities, including:

Physical Requirements:

Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.

Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.

Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.

Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.

Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc).

May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience. 

$56.76 - $87.59
