Symbiotic Services is partnering with a leading Blood & Marrow Transplant and Cellular Therapy program to identify an experienced Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant). This opportunity offers the chance to work alongside highly regarded transplant physicians and multidisciplinary specialists in a collaborative environment focused on innovation, clinical excellence, and patient-centered care.

Position Summary

The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) will serve as an integral member of the Blood & Marrow Transplant and Cellular Therapy team, providing comprehensive care to patients undergoing autologous and allogeneic stem cell transplantation, CAR T-cell therapy, and related cellular therapies.

The APP will participate in all aspects of patient care across the transplant and cellular therapy continuum, including evaluation, treatment planning, symptom management, toxicity monitoring, survivorship care, and long-term follow-up. This role includes both inpatient and outpatient responsibilities and requires close collaboration with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, social workers, care coordinators, and referring providers.

The ideal candidate will have experience in Blood and Marrow Transplantation, Hematology/Oncology, Cellular Therapy, or a related specialty and possess a strong commitment to providing high-quality care for patients with complex hematologic malignancies.

Essential Responsibilities

Clinical Management



  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including histories, physical examinations, treatment evaluations, and follow-up visits.

  • Evaluate patients for autologous and allogeneic stem cell transplantation and cellular therapy eligibility.

  • Participate in treatment planning and ongoing management of transplant and cellular therapy patients.

  • Order, interpret, and manage laboratory studies, imaging, and diagnostic testing.

  • Prescribe medications, supportive care therapies, and treatment-related interventions in accordance with state regulations and organizational policies.

  • Monitor treatment response and adjust care plans in collaboration with attending physicians.

Blood & Marrow Transplant Care



  • Manage patients throughout the transplant continuum, including:

  • Pre-transplant evaluation and preparation

  • Conditioning therapy monitoring

  • Stem cell infusion

  • Engraftment monitoring

  • Post-transplant recovery and survivorship

  • Evaluate and manage transplant-related complications including:

  • Graft-versus-host disease (GVHD)

  • Infectious complications

  • Immunosuppression management

  • Cytopenias

  • Organ toxicities

  • Participate in both inpatient rounding and outpatient transplant follow-up clinics.

Cellular Therapy and CAR T-Cell Management



  • Participate in evaluation and management of patients receiving CAR T-cell therapy and other cellular therapies.

  • Coordinate care throughout the cellular therapy treatment process, including:

  • Initial consultation

  • Pre-treatment workup

  • Bridging therapy monitoring

  • Lymphodepleting chemotherapy

  • Cellular therapy infusion

  • Post-treatment monitoring

  • Assess and manage cellular therapy-related toxicities including:

  • Cytokine Release Syndrome (CRS)

  • Immune Effector Cell-Associated Neurotoxicity Syndrome (ICANS)

  • Cytopenias

  • Infectious complications

  • Collaborate with critical care, neurology, infectious disease, and other specialty services when escalation of care is required.

Care Coordination



  • Serve as a primary clinical resource for transplant and cellular therapy patients and caregivers.

  • Coordinate multidisciplinary care among physicians, nurses, pharmacists, social workers, and referring providers.

  • Facilitate transitions between inpatient and outpatient settings.

  • Participate in daily rounds, multidisciplinary conferences, and treatment planning discussions.

  • Ensure timely communication with patients, caregivers, and referring physicians.

Patient Education



  • Educate patients and families regarding:

  • Blood and marrow transplantation

  • Cellular therapy and CAR T-cell treatment processes

  • Potential complications and side effects

  • Medication management

  • Infection prevention

  • Long-term follow-up and survivorship care

  • Reinforce treatment adherence and promote patient engagement throughout the care continuum.

Quality Improvement and Program Development



  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical program development.

  • Assist with development and implementation of clinical pathways, protocols, and best practices.

  • Support compliance with accreditation standards and institutional requirements.

  • Participate in departmental education and ongoing professional development activities.

  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record.

Research and Clinical Trials



  • Support clinical research and investigational cellular therapy programs as appropriate.

  • Collaborate with research staff and investigators on protocol-related activities.

  • Assist in identifying eligible patients for clinical trials and emerging therapies.

Qualifications

Required Education and Licensure



  • Master's or Doctoral degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.

  • Current Georgia Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license, or ability to obtain licensure prior to employment.

  • National certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.

  • DEA registration and prescriptive authority.

Required Experience



  • Minimum of two (2) years of Advanced Practice experience in one or more of the following:

  • Blood and Marrow Transplantation

  • Hematology/Oncology

  • Cellular Therapy

  • Hospital Medicine

  • Critical Care

  • Related specialty caring for patients with hematologic malignancies

Preferred Experience



  • Three (3) or more years of Blood & Marrow Transplant and/or Hematology/Oncology experience.

  • Experience caring for patients undergoing autologous and allogeneic stem cell transplantation.

  • Experience managing transplant-related complications including GVHD, infectious complications, and immunosuppressive therapies.

  • Experience with CAR T-cell therapy and management of CRS and ICANS.

  • Experience within accredited transplant or cellular therapy programs.

  • Experience in academic medical center environments.

  • Clinical trial or research experience.

Preferred Certifications



  • OCN® (Oncology Certified Nurse)

  • AOCNP® (Advanced Oncology Certified Nurse Practitioner)

  • BMTCN® (Blood and Marrow Transplant Certified Nurse)

  • Other relevant oncology or transplant certifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities



  • Strong clinical knowledge of hematologic malignancies, transplantation, and cellular therapies.
