Job Description
The Advancement Engagement Officer is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing strategic university events that strengthen community engagement, support regional economic development initiatives, and enhance institutional visibility throughout the community.
In addition, the Advancement Engagement Officer supports student leadership initiatives, annual giving program, and collaborates with advancement staff to assist with donor cultivation, stewardship, and participation-based fundraising efforts aligned with institutional priorities.
Eligibility to work in the U.S. is required at the time of hire. No pre-employment sponsorship is authorized for this position.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of university events that strengthen community engagement, institutional visibility, and regional economic development partnerships.
- Develop and manage all aspects of event operations, including budgeting, logistics, vendor coordination, catering, audiovisual needs, guest experience, communications, registration, and post-event stewardship activities.
- Direct and manage the university’s annual giving program, including donor engagement strategies, annual campaigns, Giving Day initiatives, participation-based fundraising efforts, and stewardship activities designed to increase donor retention and philanthropic support.
- Manage student leadership programs that cultivate leadership development, professional growth, and ambassadorial skills while supporting initiatives that enhance student engagement, campus involvement, and university representation.
- Maintain accurate records within CRM systems, generate reports, and analyze event and engagement data to support strategic planning and decision-making.
- Represent the Office of Advancement at university, alumni, donor, and community events and perform additional duties in support of institutional goals.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Two years of related experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in higher education advancement, donor relations, or nonprofit fundraising.
- Experience coordinating donor cultivation and stewardship events.
- Familiarity with fundraising campaigns, donor engagement strategies, and volunteer leadership programs.
- Experience with event management software and constituent relationship management systems.
- Demonstrated ability to create high-quality guest experiences and build strong stakeholder relationships.
Other Requirements
- Ability to travel and work beyond normal office hours.
- Ability to always maintain confidentiality
- Experience in event planning, advancement, fundraising, hospitality, communications, or related fields in higher education.
- Demonstrated experience coordinating special events and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Demonstrated experience leading university student leaders
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel and CRM/database systems
