Cargill is a family company committed to providing food and agricultural solutions to nourish the world in a safe, responsible, and sustainable way. We sit at the heart of the supply chain, partnering with producers and customers to source, make and deliver products that are vital for living. By providing customers with life’s essentials, we enable businesses to grow, communities to prosper, and consumers to live well.
This position is in our specialized portfolio enterprise where we serve diverse businesses who support unique customers or markets, including animal nutrition and health, bioindustrial, road safety salt and Cargill joint ventures.
Cargill’s Bioindustrial business (CBI) brings new bio-based technologies to the market that compete with traditional petroleum-based applications, working to create a more sustainable future. CBI is an entrepreneurial business with unique opportunities in which Trade and Risk Management is a key contributor. The Advisor, Trading and Merchandising job develops and executes short- and long-term merchandising strategies across assigned commodities, customers, suppliers and supply chains to generate commercial value, optimize margins and support profitable growth. As a recognized subject matter authority in this field, this job analyzes highly complex supply and demand dynamics, handles high risk cash and hedge exposures, identifies strategic supplier opportunities and influences merchandising decisions across regional and global markets. This is a pivotal role within CBI, managing over 150 million dollars per year of tradeable raw material futures and basis exposure in a rapidly growing product line for CBI. This role will also play a Team Leader role in relaying our US futures positioning bias to other geographies that price off the US futures market (an additional 150 million dollars of exposure). This job cooperates with cross functional and cross business teams to align merchandising strategies with business priorities, strengthen market intelligence, improve portfolio performance and support disciplined risk management.
