After School Program Coordinator

The Montclair Cooperative School seeks a caring, organized, and energetic After School Program Coordinator to oversee our daily after-care program for students in PreK through 8th grade. The coordinator is responsible for creating a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for students during after-school hours and supervising program staff. The hours are 3:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m. Monday-Friday, beginning on September 1, 2025.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise students from dismissal at 3:15 PM until parent pick-up at 6:00 PM
  
• Ensure student safety and well-being at all times
  
• Design and implement engaging activities (e.g., crafts, games, homework help) appropriate for a range of ages
  
• Maintain accurate attendance records and ensure proper sign-in/sign-out procedures
  
• Manage and supervise any additional after-care staff or volunteers
  
• Communicate professionally and warmly with parents and school staff
  
• Ensure that program spaces are clean, organized, and secure at the end of each day
  
• Follow all school health, safety, and emergency protocols
  
• Order and maintain necessary supplies within budget
  
  

Qualifications

• Prior experience working in an after-school or childcare setting required
  
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  
• Ability to manage a group of children with warmth, structure, and consistency
  
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
  
• Must be at least 18 years old and able to pass all required background checks
  
• Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
