AI Architect

About the role:
We’re hiring for a hands-on AI engineering leader to join a global technology leader at their Raleigh–RTP campus. You’ll design and build multi-agent AI systems, Model Context Protocol (MCP) integrations, and an internal AI development platform used by engineering teams across the organization.

What you’ll do:

• Design and build multi-agent AI systems, including task delegation between agents, state management, and secure communication.
  
• Build MCP servers and clients that securely connect large language models (LLMs) to enterprise data sources and developer tools.
  
• Contribute to the architecture of an internal AI platform, with a focus on performance, low latency, and a smooth developer experience.
  
• Write high-quality, production-ready code, build prototypes, and help set engineering best practices for AI development.
  
• Write clear design documents, mentor engineers, and explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  

What we’re looking for

• 8–12 years of professional software engineering experience.
  
• Strong programming skills in Python or Java.
  
• Solid system design skills: you can break down complex problems, weigh trade-offs, and design services that hold up at scale.
  
• Experience building and deploying on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), with Docker and Kubernetes.
  
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  
• A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience building LLM applications: RAG pipelines, vector databases, prompt engineering.
  
• Experience with agent frameworks such as LangGraph, AutoGen, or CrewAI.
  
• Experience with MCP, or with tool calling and function calling in LLM APIs.
  
• Experience with TypeScript or Go.
  
• Daily use of AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or GitHub Copilot.
  

Work location and authorization

• This is an onsite role in Morrisville, NC. Candidates must live in the Raleigh–Durham–RTP area or be willing to relocate. Remote work is not available.
  
• Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.
