Position Overview:

The Manager of Alumnae Engagement develops and manages programs that strengthen relationships between Hathaway Brown and its alumnae. In partnership with the Director of Alumnae Engagement, the Manager oversees events, communications, volunteer opportunities, and programs that encourage lifelong connection and philanthropic support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage alumnae events, including Alumnae Weekend and regional programs.


• Recruit and support alumnae volunteers, committees, and class representatives.


• Create alumnae communications, including monthly e-newsletters, social media, event promotions, and class correspondence.


• Spearhead solicitation, organization and editing of class news submissions for bi-annual magazines.


• Represent the Alumnae Office at events and meetings as needed.


• Manage program budgets, vendors, contracts, timelines, and event logistics.


• Maintain alumnae information in Raiser’s Edge/NXT and track program participation.


• Evaluate engagement efforts and recommend improvements.


• Collaborate with the Advancement team to support engagement and fundraising goals.


• Develop volunteer, mentoring, networking, and student-alumnae engagement opportunities.


• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.


• Three to five years of experience in alumnae relations, advancement, event management, volunteer engagement, communications, or a related field.


• Strong project management, event planning, communication, and relationship-building skills.


• Excellent organization, judgment, discretion, and attention to detail.


• Experience managing volunteers, committees, budgets, and vendors.


• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Canva; experience with Raiser’s Edge/NXT, Finalsite, and Boost My School is preferred.


• Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends.

Language Skills: Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking; capable of interpreting documents and communicating effectively with parents and staff.

Reasoning Ability: Skilled in problem-solving, data collection, and drawing valid conclusions.

Physical Demands: Regular activities include standing, walking, sitting, manual tasks, and communication. Frequent reaching, stooping, kneeling, or crawling; occasional climbing or balancing. Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs frequently and up to 50 lbs occasionally. Reasonable accommodations available for individuals with disabilities.

Work Environment: Typically moderate noise levels; accommodations provided as needed.
