Veterinary nursing skills including animal restraint, catheterization, phlebotomy, anesthesia (volatile & injectable), basic laboratory skills, and clinical experience with a wide variety of animal species.
The ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, ability to walk moderate distances from facility to facility, must be in good physical condition.
Record-keeping skills, basic computer skills, organizational skills and the ability to prioritize.
This position requires weekend, on call, and holiday work on a permanent or rotating basis.
Preferred Qualifications
Certification at the LATg level from the American Association for Laboratory Animal Sciences.
Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) license or equivalent experience
