The Accounts Payable Manager will oversee our accounts payable operations and lead our AP team. The successful candidate will manage day-to-day AP activities, ensure accurate and timely processing of invoices, and implement improvements to enhance departmental efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and supervise the accounts payable team, ensuring high-quality and timely completion of tasks.
Develop and maintain key relationships with field and corporate employees, as well as external vendors.
Review, document, and enhance departmental processes and procedures for greater efficiency.
Schedule, prepare, and issue vendor payments, including checks and electronic transfers.
Assist with the preparation and review of check runs and resolve any issues related to contract, invoice, or payment discrepancies.
Assist in the month-end closing process for accounts payable and support various year-end projects, including 1099 reporting.
Provide support for annual audits and other financial reviews.
Reconcile monthly statements and resolve outstanding balances on vendor accounts.
Communicate with vendors and internal stakeholders to resolve invoice and payment inquiries promptly.
Conduct teams’ annual performance reviews and consistently evaluate and provide feedback on employee performance.
Ensure employees adhere to timekeeping procedures.
Additional projects and duties to support departmental goals.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
5+ years of progressive full-cycle accounts payable experience with a strong understanding of AP processes and procedures.
Previous supervisory or management experience is required.
Proven ability to manage a high volume of invoices and expense reports while meeting deadlines.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word).
Experience with accounting software such as Yardi, MRI, or AvidXchange is preferred.
Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially and professionally.
Capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
Ability to take ownership of the accounts payable function and drive departmental improvements.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to resolve discrepancies efficiently.
Fast and accurate data entry skills.
Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
