The APeX Beaker Analyst position will report directly to the APeX Beaker Team Lead/Supervisor and up through the APeX LIS Manager.
The APeX Beaker P2 Analyst will work in collaboration with senior Beaker analysts, other APeX application teams, clinical/business operations, and guides to enhance and maintain the Epic electronic health record. The P2 analyst provides excellent customer service to end users, tracks issues, and follows up as appropriate. Analysts will work in multiple locations, including UCSF Medical Center locations, Benioff Children’s Hospitals-Oakland and San Francisco, UCSF campus, and community connect partners.
The APeX Beaker Analyst must be certified in one or more of the following Epic applications and have 1-2 years of experience with LIS application build in a hospital setting. Prior work experience at UCSF, Benioff Children’s Hospital - Oakland or other academic Medical Centers is preferred.
The candidate selected for this role will be required to obtain certification within 6 months of hiring in one or both of the above applications, if not already completed. Additional certifications, such as with middleware software may also be required.

Health IT is responsible for all aspects of the UCSF electronic health record software, Epic, also known as Apex (Advancing Patient-Centered Excellence) for UCSF hospitals, practices, affiliates and community partners.
The APeX Beaker team falls under the Health IT department, which is responsible for the maintenance and expansion of UCSF electronic health record (Epic) and related technologies.
