Aquatics & Fitness Specialist

Job Title: Aquatics & Fitness Specialist
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Pay Range: Grade 5

General Description of Work: Leads Fitness operations on land and assists the Recreation Manager - Aquatics with water program operations and personnel including part-time lifeguards, swimming and fitness instructors, coaches, volunteers, and contracted staff.

Supervision Received: Receives general supervision from the Recreation Manager - Aquatics
Schedule: Recreation Center hours of operation, or as directed by supervisor; evenings and weekends.

Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Parks and Recreation or
related field and at least three (3) years of previous experience in a similar full-time
position including direct supervisory experience, or an equivalent combination of
education and experience which provides the necessary skills and abilities to do the job.
Requires First Aid, CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer certification, Lifeguard
Training certification. The following are required within 6 months of hire; Water Safety Instructor (WSI) certification, and either Certified Pool
Operator (CPO) or Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO) certification.

Preferred Certifications:
Nationally recognized Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) and/or group exercise certification, Lifeguard Training Instructor (LGI) and Water Safety Instructor Trainer (WSIT) certification.
